by Rondo and Etude, repentant rapscallions. It is with heavy hearts that we write this. One of our best friends, in fact, our best friend, Little Boy Cat, passed on yesterday, Thursday, October 5, 2017. Little Boy Cat, or LBC as we called him, and our baby sister Sweetie met on Facebook in February 2015 and had a common interest in baking. LBC, an experienced baker and entrepreneur, offered to teach Sweetie some much needed lessons in making cookies. You see, we are a family that loves cookies and entertaining our animal friends and to do so we needed an endless supply of sweets to go along with our nip tea. Well, long story short... a deep and lasting friendship developed between the two families and our Divine Ms B and Grammy. In there somewhere Mousie and LBC (her Cheffy dearest) fell in love. Little Boy Cat was the catalyst needed to bring Mousie, our wee sister, out of her shell. Until then she was shy and retiring – a demure, timid little puss. LBC was responsible for encouraging her to express herself, bringing out her adventurous and humourous side... And boy it turned out she is feisty and has a funny side to her. This is evident in some of our past blogs and Facebook posts. We, on the other hand, had no need to be brought out of our shells. In fact, I think Grammy would have liked to see us put back in our wee eggshells and incubated for another 20 years. We spent the last few years teasing, tormenting and harassing the lovebirds. Oh, not only them but many others too. We are an incorrigible pair. Well, back to Little Boy Cat. LBC and his mummy, TDMB, were another duo who encouraged us to start our blog. (see blog... Nerissa, Missed but Never Forgotten) Their advice, good humour, quirky remarks and prodding spurred us on to continue writing. In addition to encouraging us, LBC and TDMB shared their expertise, time and skills to teach Grammy and the rest of us how to put on fantastic Facebook parties, plan adventures and romantic getaways for the loving duo and many others. Our first memory of one such magnificent party was for Sweetie’s 3rd birthday. We were picked up in Pretty in Pink, LBC’s pink jet, transported to Florida to Sanibel Island to the most wonderful venue. The food was delicious, entertainment was endless and delightful, and friends who attended were amazing. Of course, we boys got into some mischief, but what can you expect with active three year olds with energy to spare. We’ll let you check out the photos for a few of our mischievous antics. Oh, there were many more adventures, some when we were included, others when we blindsided them after sneaking aboard Pretty in Pink, and many where we were sent one way on adventures with Whiskers as the adult accompanying us while Mousie and LBC slipped off in the opposite direction to parts unknown. Through it all LBC was a gentleman, a cat of exquisite taste and impeccable manners….but not a pushover. He knew how to handle miscreants like us. Then came the day when TDMB, LBC and his brother Third moved from Tennessee to Pennsylvania. Our dear friend Tammy hopped in her car, toodled down and gathered them up, had everything loaded into a moving van, and brought them all back to Muddy Waters. That was a week to celebrate. Our dear DMB and the boys were no longer left to the mercies of their landlords. They had a new home, a new extended family. AND they were closer to us. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts, circumstances haven’t worked out that Grammy and Ms B have met physically. Yet! One day we shall. And what a day that will be! Our only regret is that we shan’t meet LBC in this realm. We thank our DMB for sharing her beloved family and most especially Little Boy Cat with us. We have loved every minute of the past two years eight months of adventures, misadventures, mischief and mayhem. We hope to continue to do so with Third, our DMB, Miss Mitzy, Aunty Tammy and many, many others. Meantime, we will keep writing to honour our mentor, Little Boy Cat. May he rest in peace as he watches over the thousands of adoring fans and loved ones he left behind.
